What to expect when you come to the pool

  • Arrival – Please arrive ten minutes early. Wear a face mask unless a medical condition prevents you from doing so. A staff member will greet you and conduct a health screening. Once screened, proceed to the front desk, state your name, and show your ticket (on your phone or printed) or complete your payment if needed.

  • Locker Rooms – For the safety of all customers, please come with your swimwear already on to prevent prolonged use of the locker room. Toilets will still be available; however, showers are closed. You may bring your personal items to the pool deck instead of using lockers – items may be placed near your lane.
  • Lane Assignment – Stop when you reach the pool deck. A lifeguard will greet you. If you have a lap swim ticket, please let the lifeguard know your preference (water walking, slow swim, medium swim, fast swim, or diving well), and they will assign you to a lane. There is a maximum of three swimmers per lane for lap swimming; please circle swim if you have three swimmers in your lane. If you have a family open swim ticket, the lifeguard will assign your family to a shallow zone.

  • Equipment – You are encouraged to bring your own swim equipment, if possible (please, no large pool floats or non-Coast Guard approved flotation devises, such as water wings). If you would like to borrow an item, please let the lifeguard know before you get in the pool, and they will get it for you. All pools have life jackets available. Equipment available at Chinquapin: kickboards (youth and adult), aqua aerobics noodles, ankle weights, aqua jogger belts, pull buoys, and aqua barbells and dumbbells.
  • Masks – Face masks are not allowed in the water, as they present a choking/drowning hazard when wet. Please wear your mask to and from the pool deck, and remove it before getting in the water. You can keep your mask dry by placing it in your gym bag or bringing a plastic container for it (such as a sandwich bag or food container).

  • Inclement Weather – In the event of inclement weather that closes the pool, you will receive a household credit for your cancelled swim ticket.
  • Exit – A lifeguard will blow the whistle to mark the end of your 45-minute swim. Please towel off on the deck rather than returning to the locker room. On your way out, please drop off any borrowed equipment on the pool deck – lifeguards will disinfect it. Thank you for your help preventing the spread of COVID-19 by showering at home.
