The outdoor pool season begins on Saturday, May 25, at all three outdoor pool locations and the Potomac Yard Park Interactive Fountain. Get ready for summer with an individual or family season pass, usable at all three outdoor pools, and mark your calendar for this summer's outdoor pool events.

The 42nd Annual Memorial Day Jazz Festival will take place on Monday, May 27, from 1 to 6 p.m. at Waterfront Park (1A Prince St.). Admission is free. A variety of talented musicians and diverse styles of jazz will be featured throughout the day.

The interim Waterfront Park featuring seating terraces, bench swings, movable furniture and much more is now open! The City’s Waterfront Plan envisions a new public plaza at the foot of King Street encompassing the City owned properties of 1 & 2 King Street, and the existing King Street Park, totaling about one acre.

Make memories in your neighborhood by hosting your next outdoor gathering at a picnic area. Picnic shelters and picnic areas at seven park locations are now available for reservation for April through October 2019.

The Alexandria Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities offers the community a personal opportunity to honor a friend or loved one by adopting a bench at one of our parks. When you adopt, City Staff will install a personalized plaque on either an existing or a new park bench.
