What's Next Alexandria?

What's Next Alexandria, the City's 2012 – 2013 civic engagement initiative, culminated in City Council’s adoption of Resolution 2597, establishing Civic Engagement Principles and supporting processes as set forth in the What’s Next Alexandria Handbook for Civic Engagement, to guide Alexandria’s public decision-making processes. This page functions as a gateway for the community to find information and involvement opportunities on active citywide projects and initiatives.

Community Associations

  • Community Associations Map Viewer - Find the locations and other information for business, civic, community, neighborhood and homeowner associations, as well as condominiums and housing cooperatives.  
  • Interested in forming a neighborhood civic association? Civic associations are private organizations and are formed through operating documents and registration with the  Commonwealth of Virginia State Corporation Commission.  Private attorneys can assist with that filing.
