Alexandria Archaeology Summer Camp -- CANCELLED

Information for 2021

Alexandria Archaeology Summer Camp 2021has been cancelled. It is not possible for campers to do hands-on work under careful supervision of staff while following CDC, state, and local guidelines. Due to cancellations in 2020 and 2021, Summer Camp 2022 will include a Counselor In Training (CIT) program for ages 16-17. Dates will be announced in January 2022. 

Summer Camp -- checking soil colors

WHAT: Help Alexandria’s City archaeologists excavate a real archaeological site! Learn professional excavating, recording, and artifact processing methods. Uncover Alexandria’s buried past while protecting the City’s valuable historic resources.

WHO: Ages: 12 - 15. Due to cancelling Summer Camp 2020 and 2021, the Alexandria Archaeology Summer Camp 2022 will be broadened to include a Counselor In Training option for ages 16-17. 

WHEN: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.

WHERE: The Alexandria Archaeology Museum, and a real archaeological site in Alexandria.

COST: $400 with available scholarships

REGISTRATION:   Camp 2022 dates will be announced in January.
